Cooking Allergen-Friendly Recipes with the Kiddos

Cooking with your kids can be a fun and educational activity, especially when creating delicious, allergen-friendly recipes that everyone can eat safely. I started cooking with my son when he was four years old—now eight years later, he can make his own after-school snacks! All you need is a little step stool, kid-friendly aprons, whisks, and a lettuce knife (AKA kid-friendly knife 😉), and you’re ready to go.

Here are a few tips to start cooking with your kiddos:

  • Create an experience. Let your kids help with measuring (which is also great for teaching math skills!), mixing, cutting, and decorating (did someone say, “art class?”). It's a great way for them to learn and have fun!

  • Keep safety first. Always supervise your kids, especially when using knives, the oven, or stove.

  • Remember the allergen-free substitutes. Use safe alternatives for your allergens, and read labels to ensure the ingredients work for your family’s dietary needs.

We hope these recipes bring extra joy and deliciousness to your kitchen. Cooking together is a wonderful way to bond with your kids, and with these allergen-free recipes, everyone can join the fun. Happy cooking from our kitchen to yours!
